
Chapter Events and Upcoming Meetings
SCC Chapter meetings are held the first Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Second floor of Philippe's Restaurant, 1001 N. Alameda Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
- The Southern Chapters Council serves the professional engineers in Los Angeles and Orange County and parts of Riverside and San Bernardino.
- Members participate in the many Chapter Los Angeles area MATHCOUNTS contests.
- The California State MATHCOUNTS Contest is divided and members participate in the Southern California State Contest.
- The Southern Chapters Council participates in Engineers Week celebrations held in different parts of our area.
- Southern Chapters Council holds the active link of the Order of the Engineer. A goal is to increase the number of engineers in the Order.
- The Southern Chapters Council holds periodic programs, field trips and professional activities.
- Members make presentations at local universities on the value of being a professional engineer.
- Southern Chapters Council monitors California legislative activity involving engineers and activities of the California Legislative Council for Professional Engineers
- Members of the Southern Chapters Council are presently and have a long history of being officers in the California Society of Professional Engineers and a few have been active in National Society for Professional Engineers governance.
- The Southern Chapters Council communicates to its members through electronic newsletters, and through the annual mailing of the Voice in late January.
- Younger members are invited to network with other young members, and to find mentors among experienced members.
