While CSPE monitors a number of
Legislative Issues
for its members, it is also the major member of an engineering
lobbying coalition, the California Legislative Council for
Professional Engineers (CLCPE). CLCPE exists
to accomplish the following objectives:
 |
To
support, develop and protect legislation in the field of
Professional Engineering that will be in the best interests of the
public welfare and safety |
 |
To
examine all pertinent legislation introduced in California and to
make appropriate recommendations in regards to proposals which
affect the engineering profession |
 |
To
formulate and introduce legislation which will strengthen or aid the
enforcement of the laws regulating the engineering profession |
 |
To
represent professional engineers at legislative committee meetings
where engineering related legislation is to be discussed. |
Recent Activities and Successes of CLCPE
 |
Testified
before the Joint Legislative Sunset Review Committee on the Board
for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (BPE&LS) |
 |
Worked
with the Independent Consultant studying BPE&LS, providing the
consultant with numerous reports on the current status of various
branches of engineering in California. |
 |
Took a
firm stance on a variety of engineering bills in the California
Legislature |
