CSPE's
alliances with the Architects & Engineers Conference Committee
of California (A&ECC) and the Civil Justice Association of
California (CJAC)
helps further promote the political voice of Professional Engineers.
A&ECC
- Architects and Engineers Conference Committee of California
The
A&ECC provides a means for the exchange of information and
planning of cooperative action at the state level in fields of
mutual interest to licensed design professionals in California.
In
addition to CSPE members, the A&ECC represents more than 15,000
members from the following organizations:
Currently,
A&ECC is a major player in the enforcement of Qualifications
Based Selection (QBS) in California.
CJAC
- Civil Justice Association of California
The
Civil Justice Association of California is a coalition of citizens,
taxpayers, businesses, local governments, professionals,
manufacturers, financial institutions, insurers, and medical
organizations. Founded in 1979 as the Association for
California Tort Reform, they are dedicated solely to improving
California's civil liability system.
CJAC
advocates on behalf of measures to bring punitive damages under
control, bring fairness to the system of allocating damages for
negligently-caused business losses, reduce expensive employment
termination cases, prevent abusive litigation under the state's
Unfair Competition Law, and encourage alternative dispute
resolution. CJAC's research validates the harm lawsuit abuse
causes to taxpayers, businesses, consumers, and professionals and
delivers the facts to key policymakers and opinion leaders.
