Chapter/Affiliate Dues/Funding Policy

A)       Chapter Dues – There shall be no chapter dues directly assessed to members of the California Society of Professional Engineers. 

 

B)       Chapter Funding - For each chapter that meets the qualifications set forth by the CSPE Board of Directors and CSPE Affiliation Agreement to operate as a chapter or regional group of the California Society of Professional Engineers, the chapter will be issued funding from the CSPE state account for the number of members in their chapter as follows unless the chapter or council has a total of $10,000 or more in all reserve accounts:

 Licensed Member (NSPE Grade A) - $10/member/year

Retired Licensed Member (NSPE Grade B) - $5/member/year

Member (NSPE Grade H) - $5/member/year

 

C)       Fund Procurement and Disbursement– All chapter funding will be based upon the current membership roster totals of the chapter as of the July standing order that is sent to the CSPE State Offices from the National Society of Professional Engineers.  The funding will be sent via check to each chapter Treasurer or held in the chapter’s internal restricted account (as appropriate) as soon as possible after receipt of the July standing order from NSPE.

 

D)       Other Dues – No affiliate group of CSPE is allowed to collect mandatory dues without the express written consent of the CSPE Board of Directors.

 

E)        Funds held by any Chapter or Practice Division in local bank accounts or internal restricted accounts at the time it becomes inactive or is dissolved shall become the property of the Society.  The CSPE Treasurer/CFO will be authorized to collect the funds from local chapter accounts and allocate them as he or she sees fit to ensure the financial well being of the Society as a whole.

 

F)         This designation of the distribution of funding to Chapters, Regional Groups, and Practice Divisions replaces any such stipulations in the bylaws of any individual CSPE chapter or affiliate group and also replaces any previous policies with regards to this general matter.

 

This policy will be reviewed annually by the CSPE Board of Directors
