NOMINATING PROCESS
As Approved November 22, 1998
Appointment. The President shall appoint no less than three and no more than five members to serve on a nominating committee. The President at the first board meeting in the new fiscal year shall report the names of these committee members.
Composition. Every effort to appoint a committee that is representative of the active affiliate groups will be made. Committee members should be currently active in CSPE to have knowledge of the characteristics and performance of potential officer candidates. No member of the nominating committee can nominate themselves.
Role. It shall be the responsibility of the nominating committee to publicize, and solicit potential candidates for all CSPE offices. Nominations of one or more persons for each office shall be made.
Process. Once completing its search and development of a slate of officers, the committee shall report the names of the potential candidates to the board and membership utilizing the web site, email, publications, and/or direct mail 90 days prior to the general membership meeting. Additional nominations may be made by petition of 100 eligible voting members. Officers shall be elected by authenticated ballot of the membership each year during the general membership meeting.
